SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse’s incoming freshman class has been ranked No. 2 in the country by Inside Lacrosse. In addition, five players are ranked in the publication’s Power 100 Incoming Freshman rankings. Syracuse was one of only two schools with two student-athletes ranked in the top 10 and the only program with three ranked in the top 11.

Meghan Tyrrell from Mount Sinai High School (N.Y.) is ranked No. 6 among incoming freshman. Megan Carney, a graduate of John Paul II High School (Texas) comes in at No. 9, while Sarah Cooper from Notre Dame Prep (Md.) is ranked No. 11. In addition, Alex Marino (Bryn Mawr [Md.]) is ranked No. 34, followed by Lexi LeDoyen (Bishop Ireton [Va.]) at No. 35. All five participated in the 2018 Under Armour All-America game in July.

Braelie Kempney, a graduate of Carthage High School (N.Y.) was named to Inside Lacrosse’s Watch List. She earned All-State honors from the New York State Sportswriters Association.

The incoming class joins head coach Gary Gait‘s squad that has made seven consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
